Hello all.
Well May got off to a stonker! With tremendous weather, the bikers came out in droves. It has been nice going to work in the mornings with the thermals out of my gear, summer gloves on and my summer boots.
Tuesday morning started off well, with the brilliant blue sky and sun shining. I got half a mile down the road to the motorway slip road and it all hit off. In a big way.
It’s a long 2 lane slip road, and some cars were going slower on the inside lane, so I chose to head past them. However a green Focus was in the outside lane, also going slow. I backed off slightly and as we approached the motorway, everyone started to get up to around 70mph.
Then out of no-where, a guy that was on the inside of the green car pulled out into the outside lane! The Focus slammed on his brakes but the silver car just kept pulling out until they collided. This sent the Focus on to the grass embankment and he instantly went side-ways. Trying his best to correct the slide, I could see the driver’s hands in overdrive. The Focus threw up lots of dust and it was really hard to see where the Focus was going. Eventually he managed to get control of the car and got back on the road, at which point we were just joining the motorway. It was insane!
Then, after things had calmed down, I looked for the silver car, and it had shot off in to the distance!!
Unbelievable. I wanted to get a look at this clown, so caught up with him, passing the Focus on this way (he looked a bit white) and when I finally got beside him, it turned out to be some old guy, who looked like a geography teacher. He was oblivious to anything that was going on around him, so headed on to work, noticing that the focus had caught up with him to and was going along side him, probably trying to get him to stop.
A bizarre start to the day and throughout all of this fishtailing and destruction derby, I was expecting to get caught up in it, but managed to stay out of trouble.
I am pretty tired so sorry if this is un-interesting.
Thanks for looking!
Gordon
